Signs of Gum Disease

Gum disease is not usually associated with pain unless there is an infection or it is quite advanced.

Signs to look out for:

  • Bleeding gums – while brushing, flossing or spontaneously
  • Swollen gums
  • Loose teeth
  • Moving/ Drifting teeth
  • Teeth that have “fallen out” by themselves
  • Bad breath
  • Tender gums
  • Painful chewing
  • Receding gums/ longer appearing teeth
  • Sensitive teeth
